Mr. Fisher, has received a cable from tho London "Telegraph" stating that it had oponed a national Scott memorial fund for tho bereaved 'relatives.

Lord Denman, on behalf of the Govorument, replied cordially approving of the project.

Lord Denman cabled to tho Royal Geographical Society, expressing regret on'behalf of Australia.

Flags are half-masted, and there are many visible signs of mourning.

Tho Speaker of the House of Representatives sent a wireless message to Mr. Massoy of sympathy on behalf of the Commonwealth, and he also cabled to the president of tho Royal Geographical Society asking him to* convey messages of condolence to the bereaved relative-.

Tho Government is sending a message of sympathy to Mrs.Scot*.
