Herr yon Bethmann-Hollweg, speaking at an agricultural ibanquet, said Germany was compelled this year to strengthen her land armament, and the •effort would demand sacrifices. God tad appointed Germany to a place on on the globe, and so arranged its history that great sacrifices were their heavy lot.
