NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE REPORT.

Wellington, Feb. 7.
The third wool sale of the season was held in. the Town Hall to-da-y, when we offered a representative catalogue of ■Wellington, Wairarapa, Manawatu and Bush wool to a full bench of Home, Continental and American buyers, New 'Zealand milte, and scourers. The wools chown were mostly 38's and 40's quality carrying a fair amount of seed, but ijattker (ligihi^r 'iva condition for this* time of the season, and those sorts suitable for Bradford met with a great reception and sold at a half-penny to throe farthings per lb over our moyt f.auguino expectations. Finer qualities, 48's and upwards, were in fair demand, Miid cold at about last sale's values. With respect to- lambs' wool tho Continental buyers were much in evidence, And practically cleared the absolute top lots at from 'lid to 12d. Seedy and niedium lambs' wool sold at from 7£d to I OJd. Pieces, bel.ies and locks were well competed ior at late ruling rates, but tho&n showing seed and heavy in coriditioJi v.\>re perhaps slightly easier..Taken right through tho sale was an unqiialifie>cl success, and wo must congratulate growers on.the satisfactory prices ruling in London.
