- The biggest oat show ever held at the Crystal Palace, was opened last month. There were all sorts of fireside pots—• tabbies,,, -whites, Siamese, chinchillas, ■tortoisosholl, but.none that in any way approached the wonderful red kitten (it was only born in April, "Torrington Rod Frill," that was worthily adjudged tho champion cat of the show. Its redness is not marred by one epeck lor suspicion of white. Its eyes are ! alternate circle® of light red and dark red, just as its coat is alternate fitreaks of the two shades. It belongs to Mrs. H. Cook, of Bideford, Devonshire, and is valued at £1000. Tho show is a wonderful gathering of ail classes, for the-pampered pets of titled ladies are under the same gla«<s roof with humble, fireside favourites in tlie Working People's Classes, whose owners nvust not be earning nior<? than 30s a week. ■
