! Tho animal meeting <-vof the Nolsoh; I. Trotting, Club us to.. taKe place at Riehrf mond Park on Wednesday afternoon next. This year the' flub is offering , £300 in st-alieS, anincreaise of £50 on the. amount given last year, and the response by the owners so far as the nominations wore concerned was. highly, satisfactory. The acceptances, however, although large, were not so good as might hcv/e been anticipated, but altogether thei% will be ninety-one horses engaged at the meeting, so that tho public may be assured of a capital afternoon's ©port. Tho numbers in the various events are as follows: Pioneer Trot, 9; Waimea Handicap, 15; Ladies' Bracelet, 15j ■-•-■Nelson. Trotting Club's Haaidioap, 13; Brightwator Handicap, 13; Richmond.Handicap, 15; Dash Handicap 13. The handicaps were made this year by Mr. James Noble, of Reefton. ' Tho totalisator will be in the- capable hands of Mr. H.'L, James, of Grey- \ mouth.. A special railway timetable lias boon arranged, and if the shops close an hour earlier on Wednesday, assistants and others will bo able to reach the course in ample time to witness the first race, which commences at 1.30 p.m. .Those- unable to procure lunch- before-! ileaving town -will be able to have their | wiants supplied on the course, Mrs. i Windl'eborne having the luncheon, and refreshment booth.
