NO-LICENSE PLEDGE CAMPAIGN.

Gere, Nor. o. Mr. H. D. Bedford and the llov. John Dawsoji addressed an audience in the Town Hall last night on the three-fifths majority vote. The following resolution was carried: "That, believing the time has -arrived when-the present unfair majority on the question* of local and national No-license must be substantially reduced, apd that such reduction can only be obtained through Parliament, tliis meeting approve^ of the steps taken by the New Zealand Alliance to obtain the following pledge from the voters of this electorate": '1 hereby give my pledge that, regardless of party, I will not, at the .next election, vote for any candidate for Parliament who will hot-undertake, if elected to do his utmost to remove, or very substantially reduce, the present^ unfair handicap on both the issues of No'-licens-e and National Prohibition..' ".
