FRIENLY SOCIETY'S SPORTS

The Friendly Society's sports which took place at the Motucka cricket ground on Easter Monday were largely attended, and a capital day's sport was provided. The Motueka Brass Band was in attendance and played selections during the day. Appended are the results :—

Maiden Race, 150 yards (6 entries) —R. Fowler 1, J. W. Smith 2. Time 17 1-5 sees.

120 Yards Handicap, Youths under 10— G. Sigglekow 1, N. McFarlaue 2.

220 Yards Hurdle Handicap (nine entries)—R. Fowler (7 yards) 1, J. Purkes (7 yards) 2. Time 28 1-5 sees.

Cycle Handicap, two miles (seven entries)—L. Green (130 yards) 1, It. Neiman (scratch) 2. Time, smins 50 sees.

880 Yards Handicap (12 entries)— E. W. Scott (scratch) 1, M. H. MeGlashen (3 yards) 2, L. Franklyn (20 yards) 3. Time, 2mins 5 3-5 sees.
