' Applications for renewable leases were dealt with as follows :— Mary Eliza Milligan, ' sections 31 and 33, block xii, Inangahua, 93a 3r2lp, resolved that the Board recommend the Minister of Lands . to permit Mrs Mary Eliza Milligari to acquire on re? newable lease, under section 138 of the Land Actj .1908, an area of 93a 3'r 21p, being sections 31 and; 33, bock xii, Inangahua survey district, and that in the .event of the Hon. Minister - for Lands ' approving the Board's recommendation, the ■ said Mary Eliza Milligan to pay to the Receiver of Land Revenue the royalty on the white pine timber growing* on the said land, ; amounting to about £14, in four equal instalments at intervals, of three months ;■ Victor Norman Graves, section. 40, block ii, Motueka, 272a lr 21pj approved. O'Brien 498 acres, and E. A. O'Brien 678 acres. R. L. Baigent asked for temporary: exemption from residence on his hold- i ing, Tadmor. The Board, in tho exceptional circumstances of the case, decided; to grant the application for exemption from residence during itspleasure. : "Thomas Dove asked for exemption; from residence on his L.I.P. section 11, block xvi, Mokihiiiui. Decided to? approve the application, as he reside/ on contiguous land. James Lynch asked to have mininK reserve in front of his L.1.P., block viii, Maruia, included in his lease. It was resolved to obtain a report. as to the mining (if any) going on in the locality. . Ambrose O'Rourke asked for reduction in- rent over metal reserve, section 24, block xiv, Matiri, 3J acres. Refused. Letters were read from V. Alborn, Inangahua Junction, and A. Beswick, Timaru, asking for exemption from rent. It was resolved to add the names of the applicants to the schedule containing the -names of those whom_the Board has determined to. consider in relation to the immunity from rent". A report of Crown Lands Ranger Harris re proposal to remove the reservation off areas of 55 acres and 9(5 acres respectively, block, iii, Matin survey district (Owen block), with the view, to merging them in the. adjoining L.I.P. holding, was received. Resolved to recommend the Minister of Lands to lift the reservation from- the above reserves in the Owen block, with the view-to merging them in the adjoining holding. L. H. Kerr's O.R.P. 50 acres/block xiv, Takaka,-was cancelled for noncompliance with the statutory improvements. An application by Messrs Free. Cottrell and Lawry to cancel occupation license held by R. L. Kearns in block xiii, Reefton was^ received. Resolved .to terminate so much of the occupation license as .is covered by the residence site of one acre granted by the Warden to Mr A. Griffiths.
