LOYAL MANSION OF PEACE LODGE.
The annual summoned meeting of the Loyal Mansion Peace of Peace Lodge, J.0.0.F., M.U., was held in the Lodge room , Waken'eld on Saturday evening, P.G. Bro. D. Tanner presiding. The auditors' report and balance sheet for the year were read and adopted. The latter showed that the Lodge had made excellent progress for the year, both .financially and numerically. Twenty- two new members were initiated, making a total of 194 at the end of the year. The total funds amounted to £5414 18s 2d, made upas follows: Sick and Funeral, £5351 16s Id : management, £42 3 9cl ; distress £20 18s Gd. The sum of £248 was paid in sick and medical benefits, and £63 to tbe district funeral fund, leaving a net gain of £290 on the year's working. The auditor, Bro. A. N. Batcbelor, iii his report, congratulated the Lodge on the general progress made, and also complimented the Secretary, Bro. F. E. Shuttl.ewprth, on the" excellent way in which the books of the Lodge had been kept. The Dietnci; officers paid an offi- j cial visit to the Lodge (P.G.M. Bro. G. Hammond, P.D.G.M. Bro. F. Cook, Prov. C.S. Bro. A., Smart), and they were accompanied by P. P.G.M. Bro. J. Corder and P.G. Bro W. Thompson, of th c Howard Lodge. Duriug the evening four candidates were initiated, tbe Prov. GM.. officiating. The P.G.M. also installed tbe officers elect for the year as follows : N.G., Bro. Alfred Eden; V.G., Bro. Allen Eden; E.S., Bro. Reginald Field. The Delegates elected to represent the Lodge- at the annual district meeting, to be held at Waketield in Februaiy, were as follows: P. P.G.M. Bro. 1. Tunnieliffe, P.G. 's Bros. E. J. Painton, P. Higginga, and J. W. Hagen. The Distrct officers and visiting Brothers were thanked for their attendance. The Lodge then adjourned. During the evening the members of the Lodge presented Bro. Johnson with a handsome clock, in appreciation of his services as superintendent of the Juvenile Branch, a position he bad held since the establishment, two years and eight months ago. Your untiring zeal and interest have been the means of enrolling members into the order who otherwise may never huvo become such. No less than ¥>> members have been transferred to tho adult lodge. 40 still remaining members of the Juvenile branch. This id itself is a valuable service, but. in addition to this you have given your time and attention to the work of the Lodge, since its establishment.
