LOYAL HOWARD LODGE. M.U., T. 0.0. P.d

The half-yearly financial summoned meeting of the Loyal Howard Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., was hßki at the Lodge room, Waimea street, on Jan. 15, when there was a fair number of members present. From the balance-sheet and auditors' report this Lodge seems to have had a I very heavy drain on its funds for the past half-year for sick payments, which amounted to £301 15s lOd, maKing a total payment for the year of close on £600. The Sick and Funeral Fund has a credit balance of £7476 8s 2d, being a slight increase for the half-year. The management fund has a credit balance of £10 2s 9d. The sum of £37 12s 3d was paid over to the District Widow and Orphans Fund. The Lodge surplus funeral fund has steadily increased, and members having full shares in the 1900 division participate to the amount of £9 17s lOd, payable to the representatives of deceased members. The distress fund has a credit balance of . £4.138 6d. The valuation report just received from the Government Actuary, was discussed, and a strong committee was appointed to go into the question of disposal .of surplus of this Lodge, Bros. A. N. Batchelor and John Corder were appointed as a committee to meet the Nelson branch of the British Medical Association to discuss matters in reference to an uniform form of agreement^ for all Lodges. f Tne following Brothers were appointed to attend the next District meeting: — Bros. J. Corder, J. E. Clear, A. N. Batchelor, J. E. Stephens, and W. Liddle. The Surgeon (Dt Bett), the Treasurer (Bro. W. Moyes), and the Permanent Secretary (Bro. A. N.Batchelor) Fstill retain their respective positions. The following Brothers were installed in their respective offices by P.G.M. Bro. G. Hammond:— Grand Master, Bro. A. E. Davies: Noble Grand, Bro. A. G. Shrimpton : ViceGrand, Bro. F. M. Batchelor and Elective Secretary, Bro. A. J. Thorpe.
