EXEMPLARY SENTENCE.
Auckland, February o. At the Supreme Court to-day, James Vesey, aged forty years, was convicted of indecently assaulting three little girls. His Honor aaid the accused was one of those persona who ought never to be allowed at liberty "^He wished he had the power to treat the prisoner as an habitual criminal. He- then sentenced Vesey to seven years' imprisonments
