Admiral Evans leaves four cruisers or battleships at Manila. The Natal Government has pardoned all the rank- and file concerned in the rebellion of 1906. Mr Asquith aims at setting aside eight millions for old age pensions, at a qualifying age of 65 years. Tbe boys at the Dudley oolliery, Newcastle, have resumed work, but those at Bur wood have thrown that mine idle. A loss of between £1500 and J82500 is expected on the tour of the English cricket team in Australia. At the Queensland feleetions the Philp party was routed. Two Ministers lost their seats.
