TaKAKA RACING CLUB. ANNUAL RACE MEETING. (By Special Reporter). Following are the additional results to those published yesterday of the Takaka Racing Club's annual race meeting, held on Tuesday :— Saddle Trott, 2 miles: A. Page's Corbett Child (owner), 22secs, 1; A. Emms' King Teddy (owner), scr, 2, J. Page's The Crab (owner), scr, 28secs 3. Also started— Oak Tree, 26secs, Avon 30secg, Torpeeress 30 sees, Rangiwahia 30aecs. Corbett Child soon established a lead, and King Teddy trotted into second place, and the positions were maintained until the finish, Corbett Child winning by several chains, The Crab being lengths away third. Time, sm ins 48aecs. Welter Hack, one mile: F. Eeilly's Gold Bird (L. Reilly) (including 71bs penalty), HsVl2lb, 1; A. Emma' Merlee (N. Emms)', lOst 61b, 2: S. Fowler's Kiner Try (Lock), Bst 71b 3. Also started— Ranguia list 31b, Flashsfcone 93t 10b, and Pure Rose Bst 71b. From a good start Ranguia "shot out from the bunch, and led for six furlongs, being displaced by Gold Bjrd and Merlee, who fought out a good finish, the former winning by a head. Time, lmin GOsecs. Publican.'s Handicap, % mile, minimum weight 9at: F. Robertson's Black Bess (J. New), 9st, 1: J. McFarlane's Edna (L. Reilly), 2; N. Bradley 'a Verno (Lock), 9st 71b, 3. Also started — Shamrock list 31b, Puritan 9st, Lady Mayfield 9st. The placed horses kept well together and a good race resulted in an unexpected win for Black Besa by half a length, Verno half a length away third. Time, Irani 22 l-sth sees. Farewell Handicap,, % mile, minimum weight 93t: A. Emms' Merlee (N. Emms), lOst 121 b, 1; J. McFarlane's Viking (L. Reilly), lOst 101 b, 2: A. Mason's Ranguia (H. Page), list, 3. Also started— Flockstone 9at. A bad start was effected, Merlee and Viking getting away with a good lead. Ranguia chased the leaders, who finished a length apart, and ran a good third. Time, lmin 22 l-sth sees. The meeting was highly successful in every way, there weref no protests to mar the pleasure of the sport, the fields were large,, the racing was good, and there was not the faintest suspicion of any crooked running. The ceitral position of the new course is convenient to settlers from all parts cf the district, and the hills and rocks forming a natural grandstand, make splendid pointa of vantage for tbe spectators. The officials have done a tremendous amount of work on the ground, and the course, which has been levelled, cleared and stumped, will in time be tne best country course in the district.
