PARLIAMENTARY PARTY OVER THE NORTH ISLAND TRUNK RAILWAY.
Hamilton, July 21. The Parliamentary Party' who travelled over the North Island Trunk railway, were entertained at Taumarunui last night at a banquet given by residents of the township and Ohura County. In the course of the speeches the disabilities of the district under the Native Land Laws were emphasised, and tbe members were urged ,to support measures to relieve the present undesirable situation. The importance of giving roads to tbe back blocks and the rapid construction of the Ongarue and Stratford railway line were given due prominence,. The Parliamentary Party left on their return trip to Wellington to-day.
