VOLCANIC ACTIVITY

I The Waikati Geyser at Wbakaffewarewa, which had been inactive since the opening of the railway line to Rotorua some. years ago, began playing about nine o'clock this morning, and has continued since with shots ranging from '20 to <0 feet. Large numbers of visitors and townspeople have gone to Whakarewarewa to witness the eruption, and there is great excitement among the residents of Whakarewarewa.
