FIRE

1 Auckland, April 30

A five-roomed house at Kingsland, owned by Mr Charles Kaye, and occupied by an Italian named Paul Roach, wa3 gutted by fire earlj r this morning. Roach lost all his effects, including £JSO in banknotes. The insurances were £150 in the Royal on the house, and .£215 in the National on the contents. The occupiers had some little difficulty in making their escape, Roach having to carry hia wife, who ia a cripple.
