At the inquest on Mrs Caroline UresH," licensee of the Wairau Valluy Accommodation House, who died suddenly, evidence showed that the deceased had been slowly poisoned by chewing tobacco. The habit after twelve months, cost her her life. A verdict of death by nicotine poisoning taken whilst of unsound mind was returned*
