He was recently e.n'victed at Tolago, and is awaiting sentence on several charges of theft and horse stealing (including the removal of race horses). Today he pleaded guilty to a couple more charges of horse stealing, also to a charge of housebreaking, being committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for sentence. His Worship remarked that the conduct of the accused was most extraordinary. He evidently had a Interna for stealing, particularly horses. His conduct was so strange and foolhardy that he (the Magistrate) had some doubt whether the prisoner was in a right state of mind. However, the authorities at Audi, land w.Uld have accused examined if they thought it necessary.
