— — — — " 1 Yesterday, before Mr H. Eyre Kenny,S.M., Charles William Eevell was charged with cruelty to a horse, by working it whilst it suffered from a sore shoulder. P. Jamieson was charged with alike offence in respect to another horse; Both admitted the offence, and Mr Harley addressed the Court on their behalf. Mr John Gay, in his evidence as an expert, said they wore not bad cases oi cruelty. The collar produced was not fit for any horse to wear. The Bench fined Rovell, who was only an employee, five shillings with seven shillings costs. Jamieson he fined twenty-fi"e shil'ings, with twentyseven shillings and sixpence costs. " W. G. Vining sued W. F. Waller for £17 15s Gd. Mr Maginnity appeared for plaintiff, who got judgment for the sum olaimed, witb-JGI 12s Gd costs, making a total of £19 S.s. v ' f
