THE DISAFFECTED IN NATAL

NATIVE OFFER TO CAPTURE THE REBELS. Received February 14, 0.15 a.m. Capetown, February 13. The Natal Government has accepted the chief of the Umvelis' offer to supply natives in capturing the rebels, numbering fifty. All the others are quiet. The hut tax is unfailingly paid as heretofore, but those paying it will not pay the poll tax, which is apart from the similar impost on European and other unmarried adults, and chiefly affects young bloods not owning kraals. General Hildyard, who is at Pretoria, offers unlimited troops.
