HEALTH OF LONDON.

London, with its population of more than four and a half millions, compares very favorably for health with other large towns in England, and so far as deaths were concerned in 1904 was more favored than in other recent years, with the exception of 1903. Notwithstanding the record rainfall in ;1903, there were in that year 15,000 fewer deaths than the average of the last ten years. The death-rate for the year was 16.6 for every 1000 persons living in London, while in the 76 towns, with an aggregate population of 15 and a quarter millions, the rate was 17.2.
