Messrs W Rout & Sons report as follows ; — RAM AND EWE FAIR. Tbe Agricultural & Pastoral Association held their first Ram and Ewe Fair at Riohmond Park 6n Jueiday l&st, in conjunction with i: Messrs W. Rout «fe Sons. The day was line, and buyeb were present from all the surrounding district**. The yarding was good, and comprised some 350 stud and : tlock rams and 50 e*,ve?. The following prices were realised :— English Leiotster rams, bred by James Little, Canterbury, £3 10s to £5 \ Others up to £i\. t,wo-pßn§ of English Leicester eiwes, bred by J. W. Marsden, realised £1 lis pc/ head ; and one pen Shropshire ewes also realised £1 lis per head ; Shropshire rams £1 10s to £ " ls ; Romney Marsh rams £1 lOs to £2 8s 6d. For Corriedales and Merinos tbe demand was poor, only a few lines being disposed of. Several lines^ of first, class stud and flock rams were passed, but business was eventually done piivately STOCK SALE. ' On Wednesday last, at Rich*! mond } we had a gbdd yarding of sheep- and the sale proved very satisfactory, only ohe line being passed. -Prices were as follows:— Two-tooth &W&3, lis.; -1 to 6-tooth ewesj- 9s Id 5 full hiotthbd ewe's., 53 3d to 7s 3d; forward stores, 8s id;. several, linea of lambs (stores afid fats), ssßd to 8s 6d The demand for all lines is fairly keen, especially the eWes, the bidding for every pen being spirited.
