The German Tariff.

Received March 8. 4.44 p m. London, March 7. The Chamber of Commerce Conference resolved that the German tariff was injurious to Britain, the mos^ favored nation -clause not being an equitable return for practically free imports when compared with high tariffs. It was the opinion that the Government should negotiate special tariff conventions with Germany and other countries, and that the local industrial committee** should be in touch with the Central London Committee with the object of studying the effect of the tariff. . •
