The Pacific Cable.
Received March 8, 4.44 p.m. London, March 8 The Canadian -Government, learning that the Commonwealth proposes to extend the Eastern Extension Cable Company's facilities in Victoria and Queensland, considers it a violation of the Pacific cable conditions and intends to strongly protest against any such arrangement. In the House of Commons the Postmaster-General, replying to a question by Sir E. A.Sasson, said that the Post Office transmits tele--1 grams where the route is not specified to Australia via the Pacific cable, but he was not aware of the I method of disposal of such telegrams ' in the reverse direction.
