Murder of a Girl.
Auckland, June 27.
! A little girl, aged three years, was murdered on Saturday at Pakauwahi, near Eaikhe, her throat being cut with a knife. The wound was afterwards hacked with a tomahawk. The child's mother, Amy Stewart, was arrested yesterday and charged with the murder. Trouble and poverty are supposed to have completely unhinged the mother's mind.
