RICHMOND TOWN BOARD.

Thb ordinary monthly meeting of tho " Richmond Town Board was held on Tuesday 12th ins', at 7.30 p.m. Present; Measrs S. Fittall (Chihrnao) Ba3t, Talbot, and Crouober. The minntas o! last ordinary and of special meeting were read and confirmed. Letttra were read from the Treasury, advieiag pa3ment of subsidy on last year's ra 63. From Mra Ko;?er3, requesting that Dr Daok be entered in Valuation 801 las ocoopant oi part of her property, which waa agreed to. From Mr H. VYarei, asking ihit th; valuation of his property be reduced. It wae resolved that he be informed that the Board ha^e not the power to do co. From Mrs Stratford, OLupliJniog of injury to her ground through overflow of water. II was resolved, that she be informed that the Board, while regretting the inconvenience tc which she has been put, cannot admit aoj responsibility for overflow caused by a heavj flood. It was resolved, that gratings be put in front of culverts -where necessary, to prevenl them from being choked up during floods. The Works Committee wars requested tc ascertain the cost of shifting culvert and filling up ditch on upper side of Church Btreot, and either to have the work done, or tc report at next meeting, aocoiding to cost. The Works Oommntee were authorised tc have the main road pared in the line of the water mains where necessary. It was resolved, that the eeama in the wooden. shoot at end of byewash be battened and that an additional plank be pat up when needed. It was resolved, in view of theapproaohi election of Commissioner?, that the Clerk appointed Returning Officer, and the statutory declaration was made by him. .
