POULTRY, PIGEON, AND DOG ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the members of this Association was held last evening at the Coach and Horses Hotel. There was a fairly numerous attendance, Mr A. Tregea presiding. It was decided, after a considerable amount of discussion, to hold the next show in connection with the association on August 9th and 10th, at the Theatre Royal. It was also decided that exhibits in the poultry classes should be shown in pairs, instead of as at the first show in trios. After some disoussion it was resolved to give prizes of the same amount as those at the late show. The entranoe fees are also to be of the same amount, but mem. bers whose subscriptions are paid will only b« oharged half rates. The meeting1 was adjourned till June 4, when the election of officers will take place. MASONIC. The installation of the W.M. ©f the Victory Lodge, No 1927, E.C., took place last evening at the Fremasons' Hall, Collingwood street. There was a large attendance of members, aad amongst the visitors were the W.M.s and many brethren of the Southern Star, Forest, and Golden Bay Lodges. The installation ceremony was performed byßro. Past Master Boor, assisted by the Past Masters. The following brethren were invested as officers for the ensuing year:— I.P.M , Bro B. W. Buttle; P.M.S.W., Bro J. C. Mercer ; J. W., Br© A. W. Bain ; Organist Bro A. F. T. gomerville; Secretary, Bro R. Allan, P.M.; Treasurer, Bro L. G, Boor, P.M.; S.D., Bro W. Moyes, junr; J D., Bro G. White, 1.G., Bro S. J. Beeves; lyler, C. J. Bartlett. At the conclusion of the ceremony the brethren adjourned to the Provincial Hall, where a social gathering waa hold, in which their wives and friends participated. A number of songs were given by the Misses Pratt and Reeves, Major Webb, and Messrs De Forest and Gilbert, with a pianoforte solo by Miss Everett, and a solo on the bells by Mr Edridge. Mr Collier acted as aecompanyist in his usual excellent style. A dance followed which was kept up with great spirit till an early hour. The hall was very tastefully decorated with ferns, flowers, and bunting. Held Oveb.—Owing to pressure on our Bpaoe we are still compelled to hold over correspondence, as well as leading article and other matter. The promoters of this company have been advised from Wellington that shares are being rapidly applied for, and as applications for shares in the Nelson district will close on the 28th inst, intending investors have little time to loose, Mr Bayfeild of Trafalgar street is acting as looal broker, and forms of application etc. may be obtained at his office. Football.—The Union Football Club of Blenheim has chosen the following team to play against the Alberts on Friday and the Nelson Club on Saturday next:—Messrs M'lvor, Hale, W. Redwood, Mowatt, Shand, Shaw, Greig, Simmons, Green, C. Fulton, C. Simson, Stewart, Shephard, G. Itedwood, and Speed. The above players will arrive here to-morrow evening.—The AlbJon Club intend taking a trip to Wellington, leaving here to-morrow by the Charles Edward. On Friday they play a match with the Wellington Orientals, and on Saturday they have a fixture with the Rivals. The following players will represent the Albions on Friday: —Carter, Larimer, Dee \Voodward, Clear (2) Snow, Bradshaw, Wbitwell, Johnson, Bird, Fairey, Busoh, Richards, M'Conchie, and Percival. Against the Rivals the following are chosen: Messrs Wainhonse, Weodward, Dee, Lorimer, Clear (2), Snow, Bradshaw, Wilson, Whitwell, Johnson, Fairey, Busoh, Carter, Rickarda, Bird, and M'Artney. Lecttjee. — " Thirty thousand aailes by lacd and sea," is the title of a leoture to be delivered by the Rev. Mr Morley of Christ Church in the Wesleyan Church, Hardy street this evening; lit Morley hag lately spent a year in England and on the Continent of Europe, and being a man of keen observation, hi 3 " Notes by the way," will have more than common interest. Apart fronrhia power as an observer, Mr Morley is a very able Bpeaker, and those whs hear him this evening will enjoy a treat of no mean order. The Nelson Lawn Tennis Gbounbs.—Mr Grigor has finished extending the two courts some fifty feet, the higher court has been thrown into a terrace, whiph is a decided improvement, not only in beautifying the grounds, but also in affording more scope to the levers of the ball and racket. Pigeon Shooting.—Mr Felix Green, of the Railway Hotel at Richmond, has made extensive preparations for the Queen's Birthday, and we hear that a considerable number intend talsieg part in the pigeon sheoting match in Richmond Park. Abohbirhop Redwood.—We are asked to Btate that his Grace the Archbishop will be at home at the Presbytery, between two and four o'clock this # afternoon, whea he will be pleased to see friends. The Colleges. ~At each of the Colleges the second, term ef the year will commence this morning. The redused boarding fees come into operation from now.
