The barque Woodbine will leave Newcastle about 6th February, with a cargo pf coals for Messrs. N Edwards and Co. The ps Wallace leaves this morning for her usual round of West Coast Ports. The certificate of George Alexander Armstrong, master of the schooner Nellie, has been suspended for one month at the enquiry into the wreck of that Teasel, held at Tauranga. Captain Roddeb has been appointed manager of tbe new Auckland Steamship Company. Captain Kknnbdt has been appointed to the command of the Union Company's steamer Rotorua, Captain Macfarlane having been compelled to resign in consequence of ill-health. On resigning he was presented with a gold watch and albert chain, suitably inscribed, by his officers and crew. The Star says a large vessel will l«ave Auckland early in February for New Guinea, filled with passengers from the Thames, who are going to try their fortunes at the reported new goldfield on that island.
