SECTION 121 (1) of "The Stamp Acfc, 1875," provides that every person taking possession of or receiving or paying any moneys belonging to, or accruing from, the property (realty as well as personalty) of any person dying on and after Ist January next, without Jiaving first filed the required statement and paid the duties assessed thereon, shall forfeit a sum not exceeding £500. Whether probate or letters of administration are granted by any Court or not, a statement of all property must be fikd and duties paid before the property or any part thereof of any deceased person is ia any manner dealt with. Ou payment of the proper duties the probate or letters received from the Court, or the statement of property in other cases, will be stamped and delivered to the person entitled thereto. Each Debenture will be for the sum of One Hundred Pounds bearing interest at the rate of Six per cent, per annum, and will be issued in the form and subject in all respects to the conditions as to security and payment of interest provided in the above-mentioned Act.
