She leaves this port for Taranaki ( g c Manukau to-morrow, Friday. The barque Medora, from Mauritius arrived Lyttelton on December 25th, after a passage of G days. She brought 325 tons sugar. Thb ship Nelson, Captain Leslie, from Glasgc arrived at Port Chilmers on December 26th, after fine passage of 85 days from port to port or 78 ds -n from land to land. She brought 12 cabin passenge B( and 425 free and nominated immigrants, enumerat as follows :—75 married couples, 88 single men,, single women, 55 male children, 65 female chddt! ? 10 male infants, and 10 female infants. The ship Waitara, 86 days from London, with R immigrants, arrived at the Bluff on December 27t There were two deaths on the passage. The cargo, consisting of general marchandit; < was valued at $100,000. ■ i The ship Calcutta, from Quebec to Liverpool, dcj laden, was wrecked in Grosse Isle on November 7tt and a lady passenger and 22 of the crew wen * drowned, j The Wreck oi- the Steamer Pacific.—Th | New York Tribune of November 17th, has Ihe follow ing telegram:—"San Francisco, Nov. 12.—Threvenue Bteamer Wolcott has returned to Port Town- ~ send, after a long cruise in search of survivors of th*" Pacific disaster. She made the surprising discover; that the Bhip Orpheus, which wrecked the Pacific, was herself wrecked, and cast away on an Island nest by Coffee Island. The Wolcott found the cm ot the ship on shore, among the Indians, and has brought them back. Oapt. Sawyer of the Orpheiw says that the Pacific ran into his ship. He tried to avoid the encounter, and turned his vessel so mucli that his sails were taken fiat aback. The steamer struck him, glancing just abaft the fore-chains, doing Borne damage to his hull and rigging. He hailed the steamer to stop. No attention was paid to him. On Saturday morning, before daylight, his vessel ran ashore in the darkness, at Jthe entrance of Barclay Sound. She will be a total loss. Lieut. Harwood and pilot have examined the Orpheus, and say she war undoubtedly struck by the steamer."
