The Argus of August 29fch, says : —" Breadatuffa meet with no inquiry; sales are trifling and unimportant. Bakers' lots of flour are quitted at £13 15s, bags returned, but for parcels there is no inquiry, though holders show every desire to meet buyers' views, and offer to quit at £13 to £13 2s 6d, without being responded to. Wheat is also nominal at 6s 3d to 63 4d, for very prime, but we have no sales to report. Oats do not move, and in the absence of any business, prices are nominal. Maize is hold more firmly ; there ia less offering in the market, and holders ask 4a Bd. At the public sale of tea yesterday afternoon, some 14,000 packages were offered, but the bidding having proved very slo*v, the auctioneers only succeeded in clearing olf about a third of the quantity at lOfd to Is 3d." Hops.—The Australasian of August 29th, reports: —" Hops are still in good demand. General trade quotations stand at Is 7d to Is 9d for 1873 Kent, and lOd to Is 2d for 1872; Xastnanian, 1874, are saleable at Is 3d to Is 6d, and up to Is 9d; 1873 are quoted at 9d up to Is Id."
