.Artificial LiMbs, T A. P*T OKE B, el • HARDY-STREET, NELSON, begs to announce to the Medical Faculty and other persons interested, that he is now able to manufacture to order ARTIFICIAL LEGS, Constructed on the mnsfc approved Scientific Principles. The Leg is furnished with a bucket or cup as a receptacle for the stump, and is secured to the body by straps, 4c, easily adjusted; there are joints at the knee, ancle, and toes, and the foot, calf, &c, are made to correspond in size with the natural limb. It is constructed of suitable wood ; easy action at the joints is supplied by means of steel springs, thus combining strength, elasticity and lightness, and enabling the wearer after some practice to walk with ease and freedom. Average weight, complete, 61bs. TESTIMONIALS. From Dr Boob, Hospital, Nelson. Mr Packer has had occasion to make artificial legs for patients who have left this Hospital, therefore I can confidently speak in high terms of the principle on which they are constructed, which combines strength, lightness, and shapeliness at a moderate cost; in fact they are better adapted for Colonial use, except in the case of those possessing large means, than those manufactured by English artists Leonard Booe, Resident Surgeon Nelson Hospital. November 15th, 1872. From Da Fakrelle. I can safely recommend Mr J. A. Paoker's Artificial Legs. They are very light and strong, and the apparatus which secures motion at the knee, ankle, and toes is, in my opinion, better than in most of the imported articles. (Signed) W. K. Farbelle, L.R.C.P.
