THE ELECTION FOR THE SUBURBS.
The polling for the Suburbs took place on Wednesday, and resulted, as will be seen by the following figures, in the return of Mr. A. J. Richmond, by a majority of 76 over his opponent, Mr. Elliott, Mr. Selling having retired from the contest late on Tuesday afternoon. The numbers polled at the different polling places were : — Richmond. Elliott. Provincial Hall ... 31 16 WaimeaEast ... 65 23 Stoke 26 ...... 16 Wakapuuka 24 15 Totals 146 70 The official declaration of the poll will take place at the Provincial Hall at noon on Tuesday next.
