MELBOURNE.
Wool, Tallow, and Hides—Messrs. Clough and Co. report:—Wool.—We have to report a little more doing in this market. Wool haying come in more freely this week, and the demand being good, several lots of handwasheil and scoured wools have changed hands at the following rates:—Handvvashed, at IBd. to 20d.; scoured, at 22d. to 25d. per lb.; at which prices we have sold about 120 bides. The inquiry still continues to keep pace with the supply. Tallow.— We have to report a better inquiry for this article, and have disposed of several lots at prices varying from .£4B to £55 per ton; the better qualities being most in demand. Hides.—This market is in a state of stagnation with reference to large parcels for shipment. Small parcels of country hides have kept .their price f>r some time back, but this week they are more difficult to dispose of.— The Age, July 28.,
