TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE Sheep were in good numbers at Messrs Dalgety and Co’s Te Awamutu stock sale on Thursday the 24th November. Competition for all classes of fat was steady with unchanged rates ruling. The entry of advertised shoj'n 2-tooth wethers and breeding ewes attracted a good enquiry, a line of 303 2-tooth ewes realising to 48s. In the cattle section ox and female beef was penned in full numbers. Competition for all classes of fats was keen, values for ox beef were firm on central yards quotations while female beef realised hardening prices. Boner and fat Jersey cows sold freely while a small entry of store cattle changed hands at satisfactory prices. Fat and store pigs were forward in medium numbers. All classes of fats and large store pigs maintained full late rates, however, small stores and slips were easier of sale. Sheep: Fat shorn wethers 42s to 435, fat B.F. shorn hoggets 40s 6d to 42s 9d, light fat and forward shorn hoggets 39s to 40s, fat woolly hoggets to 52s 9d, fat shorn ewes 28s to 30s, woolly ewes with lambs at foot to 36s 6d, 2-th breeding ewes 47s 6d to 48s, shorn 2-th wethers 36s lOd to 37s 6d. Cafttte: Med. to heavy P.A. and Shorthorn ox £23 to £24, light to med. P.A. ox £2l to £22 10s, light fat P.A. and Shorthorn ox £l9 2s 6d to £2O 10s, choice quality fat P.A. heifers £lB to £lB 13s, good fat P.A. cows to £l7, med. weight fat heifer cows £l2 to £l4 14s, fat Jersey cows and heifers £lO Is to £lO 15s, heavy boner cows £8 15s to £9 6s, light to med boner cows £5 14s to £B, good potter bulls £l5 2s 6d to £l6 2s 6d, other ditto £8 to £l3 10s, light ditto £4 10s to £6 10s, forward condition 2-yr (off) P.A. steers to £l7, mixed coloured yearling Shorthorn and Jersey heifers £7 4s to £7 ss.
