Chateau Liquor Bar
Work is at present in progress at the phateau Tongariro on the construction of a house liquor bar. The site of the bar is under the traffic ramp and below the present entrance to the building, on the basement floor, and the bar will occupy an area which in pre-war days was occasionally used for overflow accommodation at more moderate tariff rates. A considerable amount of excavation of concrete and brick forming the floor is necessary to secure sufficient head room. Under the present liquor laws the bar when completed will be open only to guests at the Chateau, but the position may be differ e* ' if license is carried at next me King Country poll.
