MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd. reports that fat sheep were yarded in slightly larger numbers than usual at their stock sale at Morrinsvihe on Friday last. Prices for wethers and ewes were firm, while fat lambs showed a sharp rise. An average yarding of store lambs were in good demana and prices were firm. A large number of breeding ewes were on offer. Two-tooths were in poor demand and prices were easier. Five-year ewes were in better demand and a steady sale resulted. There was a strong demand for a large offering of beef and values remained very firm. A full yarding of boner and store cows also sold freely at slightly higher rates. A full yarding of fat pigs and a light entry of store and weaner pigs was penned. Baconers and porkers remained firm at recent later rates. Store and weaner pigs also sold at unchanged rates.

Cattle: Medium weight fat bullocks £l6 4s to £l7 17s, lighterweight fat bullocks £l3 Is to £l5 9s, heavy fat P.A. cows £l2 4s to £l5 12s 6d, heavy fat young Jersey cows £8 15s to £9 10s, lighter fat young Jersey cows and heifers £7 10s to £8 10s, heavy boner cows £6 10s to £8 15s, medium boner cows £5 5s to £6, bulls £7 to £l2 ss, Jersey heifer calves £5 to £6 11s.
