ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW

COMPETITION WINNERS

On {Tuesday, November 30, the Pokuru Ladies’ Social Club held their annual Flower Show in the Pokuru Hall. The judges were Mrs Chestnut and Mrs Herlihy, Te Kawa. As the guests of the club, Mrs Syd. Harris (president), welcomed the grandmothers of the who were each presented with a beautiful floral spray, made by Mrs Kovoleski. An interesting wall competition “Clues from the kitchen,” was won by Mrs A. Gray. During the afternoon, Mrs Jeffaries sang in her usual pleasing manner, “Grannie’s Highland Home’” and “The Sunshine of Your Smile,” while Miss Kitty Jeffaries danced a tap dance.

After a sumptuous afternoon tea Mrs Harris announced the results of the Flower Show, which were as follows:
