GALA DAY AT COLLEGE

MOVIE PROJECTOR FUNDS On Thursday, 21st October, the Parent-Teacher Association, in conjunction with the staff and pupils of Te Awamutu College, has arranged for a gala to be held at the College for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the movie projector which has been ordered.

Apart from the provision of stalls for the sale of cakes, preserves, vegetables, farm produce and other saleable goods, various attractive items of entertainment have been arranged. There will be a gymnastic display, a concert given by the pupils, a fashion parade and the showing of films on the new projector at suitable intervals throughout the day. Various interesting side shows are being arranged by the pupils. Even greater’ attractions than these may be found in the basketball match (staff v. pupils), the Waipa wheelbarrow race in which prominent citizens will take part, and the Town v. Country tug-of-war. These three items will take place in the lunch hour so that local citizens may leave their shops and offices to see something of the fun. 4 Mothers will be especially* interested in the Baby Show which takes place early in the afternoon. Refreshments will be available throughout the day. It is intended that this gala should provide fun and entertainment for everybody and that in return no one should leave the College grounds without leaving some substantial token of his appreciation.
