ALLOCATIONS TO EX-SERVICE-MEN INCREASE DURING SEPTEMBER Numbering 52 more than the August allocations, 143 State houses and flats were allocated to ex-servicemen tenants during September, under the system whereby ex-servicemen obtain 50 per cent, of newly completed or vacant units. This meant that at the end of that month the total of exservicemen’s allocations stood at 7415. District allocations are as follows, those for September being given in parentheses: Auckland-North Auckland 2154 (34), Waikato-Bay of Plenty 568 (10), Hawke’s Bay-Poverty Bay 318 (11), Taranaki 208 (2), Wellington Province 2663 (49), Nelson-Marlborough-Westland 169 (4), Canterbury Province 759 (25), Otago Province 422 (5), Southland 154 (3),
