ANGLICAN CHURCH GUILD
MEETING OF KIHIKIHI BRANCH Members of the Kihikihi Ladies’ Anglican Church Guild held their monthly meeting at Mrs J. G. Wynyard’s residence on Tuesday, when there was a good attendance. Mrs A. Maunder (vice-president) presided in the absence of Mrs M. G. Sullivan. Apologies for absence were rerecived from Mesdames Marx, Allen, Sullivan, Robinson, and George. After the minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed and correspondence dealt with, an opportunity was taken to present Miss G. Wynyard, on the approach of her marriage, with a pottery vase in recognition of services rendered. The presentation was made by Mrs Maunder, who also presented Mrs Wynyard and the Misses M. and G. Wynyard with a posy and bouquets respectively. Special mention is due to Mrs Helwig for the artistic way in which she made the posy and bouquets. Several new members were welcomed, and the afternoon was spent in preparing material for bazaar purposes. Mrs Rolf won a competition conducted during the afternoon, and an anonymous donor contributed £1 toward the Guild fund; the gift was received with grateful thanks. Guild members were kindly given the opportunity to view the many useful presents received by Miss G. Wynyard. Afternoon tea was then served, and votes of thanks were accorded Mrs Wynyard for her hospitality, and she and the Misses Wynyard also thanked the Guild members.
