HAMILTON STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports as follows on the firm’s usual weekly stock sale held in the Frankton yards on Tuesday:— Sheep: an extra large entry of fat sheep found competition for wethers steady throughout at recent quotations; prices for ewes were a shade firmer. Fat lambs again met with, a ready sale at very firm rates. Extra prime wethers made 33s to 34s 6d, prime 30s to 325, medium weight 28s to 29s 6d, light 26s to 27s 6d, heavy fat ewes 21s to 225, medium 18s to 19s 6d, lighdt 15s to 16s 6d, canner ewes 6s to 10s, extra prime wooolly lambs 30s to 335, prime fat 26s to 28s, medium 23s to 255, light 20s to 22s 6d.

Cattle: There was a medium yarding of ox and cow beef, which sold under firm competition at prices on a par and in some cases a shade easier than late rates. A very large supply of boner cows sold well up to late rates. Vealers were penned in large numbers, and sold at recent quotations. Prime heavy bullocks made £l2 15s to £l4, medium £lO 15s to £l2, light £9 to £9 15s, prime heavy cows and heifers £8 15s to £lO, medium cows £7 to £B, light £5 10s to £6 10s, heavy boner cows £5 10s to £6 ss, medium £4 to £5, light £3 5s to £3 15s, heavy vealers £5 to £6,

medium £3 to £4 ss, light £1 15s to £2 10s.

Pigs: A large entry of fat pigs came forward, baconers and porkers selling fully up to recent late rates; stores and weaners were also in demand, the whole entry changing hands at very satisfactory prices. Heavy choppers made £3’los to £5 7s, others £1 15s to £2 17s 6d, prime heavy baconers £4 17s to £5 Is, heavy £4 12s to £4 15s, medium £4 6s to £4 10s, light £3 15s to £4 2s, heavy porkers £2'lBs to £3 10s, medium £2 10s to £2 16s, light £2 to £2 Bs, stores £1 10s to £1 16s, slips 18s to £1 5s 6d, weaners 12s to 16s 6d.
