Public Notices WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL PURSUANT to Sections 11 and 12 of The ®ocal Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and amendments thereof, I hereby give publie notice that the following persons have been duly nominated as candidates for the office of Councillors for the several Ridings of the County of Waipa hereunder mentioned:— , NEWCASTLE RIDING Blackett, Thomas Wray; Higginson, Frank; Kempthorne, James Thomas; Onion, Francis Leo; Russell, Stanley Guy. HAMILTON RIDING Christie, Walter William; Church, Richard John; Magner, Cornelius Augustus. TUHIKARAMEA RIDING Macdonald, Harry Dallas; Reid, Neil. MANGAPIKO RIDING Germann, William Selwyn; Johnson, John Thomas; Macky, Samuel Christie Baird; O’Connor, Bertie Columb. PUKEKURA RIDING Garland, Jonathan William; Peake, John William. ORAKAU RIDING Bryant, Allan Edwin; Harding, Eric Stanley; Rhodes, Ernest Henry. KAKEPUKU RIDING Alexander, Charles Stewart; Clarke, George Sidney. RUKUHIA RIDING Peacocke, Egerton Francis. KAIPAKI RIDING Cunningham, Maurice Wilbert. RANGIAOHIA RIDING Hall, George Smith. The number of candidates' for the Rukuhia, Kaipaki, and Rangiaohia Ridings not being in excess of the, number of vacancies to be filled 1 hereby declare the said Egertor, Francis Peacocke, Maurice Wilber! Cunningham, and George Smith Hall to be duly elected as Councillors for the respective Ridings of the County of Waipa. The number of candidates nominated for the Newcastle, Hamilton. Tuhikaramea, Mangapiko, Pukekura, Orakau, and Kakepuku Ridings being in excess of the number of vacancies to be filled, a poll for the purpose of electing ONE Councillor for each Hamilton, Tuhikaramea, Pukekura, Orakau, and Kakepuku Ridings, and TWO Councillors for each Newcastle and Mangapiko Ridings will be taken as between the candidates so nominated for such respective Ridings on SATURDAY, the 27th day of May, 1944, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., at the following polling places: NEWCASTLE RIDING Public Hall, Te Kowhai Freezing Company Haall, Horotiu Whatawhata Public School _ Mr Haggard’s Store, near Frankton Junction Koromatua School Public School, Rotokauri HAMILTON RIDING Te Rapa Hall, Te Rapa Nawton Hall, Norton Road Church of England Hall,, Ridout St. TUHIKARAMEA RIDING Ngahinepouri Hall Koromatua School Mr Haggard’s Store, near Frankton Junction PUKEKURA RIDING Leamington Town Hall Roto-o-Rangi Public Hall Monavale Public Hall ORAKAU RIDING Kihikihi Town Hall Parawera Native School Pukeatua Public Hall Wharepapa Public Hall MANGAPIKO RIDING Public Hall, Paterangi Public Hall, Te Rore Memorial Hall, Pirongia Public Hall, Mangapiko Town Hall, Ohaupo KAKEPUKU RIDING Public Hall, Pokuru Public Hall, Te Mawhai The Waipa County Office, Bank Street, Te Awamutu, is also hereby appointed as a polling place where electors of any of those above-men-tioned Ridings may record their votes.
