HAMILTON STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report: —At their weekly stock sale held at Hamilton on Tuesday, a full yarding of fat sheep was penned, and in spite of the large entry competition was steady throughout and last week’s prices were maintained. A very large entry of fat lambs also met with a keen sale at recent improved rates. Ox beef was yarded in smaller numbers and comprised mostly medium to light weight cattle. The demand was limited and values showed no improvement. Cow and heifer beef was also in shorter supply and values here remained firm. A good entry of veal maintained firm values. Fat pigs were penned in short numbers, prices for baconers and porkers remaining firm at recent late rates. Bidding for a light entry of store and weaner pigs was steady, values realised being fully up to recent quotations.— Quotations:— Sheep: Heavy fat wethers 31s to 335, prime fat wethers 28s to 30s, light 26s to 27s 6d, heavy fat ewes 21s to 225, medium 18s to 20s, light 15s to 17s, canner ewes 5s to Bs, extra heavy fat* lambs 30s to 335, heavy fat lambs 27s to 295, medium 24s to 265, light 20s to 225.
