PUAHUE NOTES

LADY GALWAY GUILD At the homestead of Mr W. G. Park on Wednesday last the members of the Puahue branch of the Lady Galway Guild gathered to celebrate the third birthday of their Guild. The president, Mrs Mahon, gave a detailed report on the work done over the years and thanked all members for their untiring efforts. During the afternoon Mrs Judge sang two delightful solos, and Miss Cole’s recitation “Our Guild,” written by a member, was loudly applauded. Miss Joclyn Parker also entertained with a recitation.

The competitions resulted in the winners being Mrs E. Hatherway. Mrs Judge (2), Mrs Cooper and Mrs Green.

A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs Garfit and Miss Cole. A beautiful birthday cake made by Mrs Garfitt, was cut by Mrs Mahon, who then passed a hearty vote of thanks to the hostesses.
