TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report: At their stock sale held at Te Awamutu on Thursday, a full yarding of fat sheep and a small entry of store lambs was penned. Competition for fat sheep was keen, and prices were in advance of recent quotations. As at other centres fat cattle were not keenly sought and sold at prices on a par with those obtained at other sales during the past fortnight. The advertised entry of pedigree yearling heifers attracted a large attendance, and a total clearance was effected, prices ranging from 5 to 12 guineas. A small yarding of dairy cattle sold readily. MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report:— At their weekly stock sale held at Morrinsville on Friday, a medium yarding of fat sheep came forward and sold at prices ruling at central yards. Fat lambs also sold well up to schedule rates, while store lambs met with a keen demand and sold firm on late rates. A medium entry of fat cows realised firm values. A heavy yarding of boner cows was again in demand and values remained steady. Jersey heifer calves were penned in medium numbers, with pens of quality selling freely. A small entry of dairy cattle was yarded. Competition for good quality forward heifers was good and late prices were realised. Smaller and low conditioned later calves were dull of sale. A full yarding of all classes of pigs came forward. Competition for baconers and porkers was very keen, values being fully up to late schedule rates. The demand for breeding sows and store and weaner pigs was also very keen, prices showing a slight increase on last week’s high values. CLEARING SALE AT TOKOROA Messrs Newton King Limited report having conducted a very successful clearing sale on behalf of Mr N. G. Dick, of Tokoroa. The herd, which came forward in excellent condition and showing well forward in calf, ereated strong competition throughout the sale from a very large bench of buyers from all parts of the Waikato. Top-quality young Jersey cows sold to £l7 10s and the whole herd of sound cows averaged £ll 18s; the twoyear in-calf heifers also sold- under keen demand, realising to £ll 10s.
