DEMOBILISED PERSONNEL The following details of the trade training of demobilised personnel of the Forces is given by the Minister of Rehabilitation, Major Referring to trade trainihg’iWffls stated that arrangements are in train for the establishment of an additional carpentry training centre in Auckland, and the provision of similar centres in Invercargill, Timaru, Gisborne, and Kaikohe. Provision has been made for married ex-servicemen living in districts where there is no carpentry training centre to be trained with a private employer on a subsidy basis. Similarly, arrangements have been made with the Railways Department to use its workshops for the training of eligible railway ex-servicemen on a subsidy basis. Where ex-servicemen 21 years and over resume their apprenticeship their wage may be subsidised to give them a return equal to the journeyman’s wage calculated on the basis of the ordinary working week.
