Car Collides With Cattle

Three heifers received broken legs and had to be destroyed and two were injured as a result of being run into by a car on the Te Awamutu-H ami 1ton main highway in the vicinity of Lake Road on Sunday. A drover was driving a mob of heifers towards Hamilton when the car, allegedly driven and occupied by servicemen, collided with the animals with the above result. Though the accident occurred at about 12.30, it was not until a late hour that the police were notified. The car was extensively damaged and was later towed to Hamilton.
