PATRIOTIC EFFORT
COMMITTEE’S CARD EVENING The Te Awamutu Ladies’ Patriotic Committee held its usual fortnightly card party in the Town Hall on Saturday last, when a highly successful function resulted. The bridge was won by Mrs J. Hutchinson, and the five hundred by Mrs J. Russell. Competitions resulted in wins for Mrs McAlpine and Mrs Montefiore. Among the ladies present were Mesdames Williams, Magill, McAlpine, Tolich, Gadsby, Marsh, Ferguson, Perrin, Mexted, Montefiore, Dukes, Ellis, Armstrong, Woodward, Shields, Campbell, Clifford, Thomson, Hutchison, Goodall, Elliott, Gee, Tuck, G. Farrell, Knight, Roberts, H. E. Brown, Cran, Ford, Russell, Boryer, Houston, Ryan, O’Leary, Horan, Tucker, Young, and Friedlander, Sister Hayward, and Misses Dennis and Walker.
