VISIT BY OTOROHANGA TE AWAMUTU VICTORIOUS • On Saturday afternoon members of the “A” team of the Otorohanga Tennis Club visited Te Awamutu, where they met the local “A” representatives in a series of games, which resulted in a win for the home team by 14 sets (119 games) to six sets (108 games). In the scores which follow, Te Awamutu names are given first:— Men’s Singles: A. Ross lost to A. Prescott, 4-9; M. Holmes lost to E. Taylor, 8-9; R. Armstrong beat P. Crean, 8-2; C. Holmes beat V. Church, 9-2; E. Holmes beat A. Fleming, 9-7; F. Holmes beat R. Chuiich, 9-1. Ladies’ Singles: Miss R. Spiers beat Miss F. Holmes, 7-4; Mrs Elliott beat Miss M. Hotson, 7-0; Miss E. Spiers beat Mrs Prescott, 7-2; Miss D. Moir lost to Miss D. Miller, 6-7; Miss M. Clark lost to Mrs Trapski, 5-7; Mrs Richardson beat Miss P. Meehan, 7-6. Men’s Doubles: A. Ross and R. Armstrong lost to Prescott and Taylor, 6-9; E. Holmes and F. Holmes beat V. Church and R. Church, 9-3. Ladies’ Doubles: Misses R. and E. Spiers beat Misses F. Holmes and M.
